By reading or using Elvin, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain language on purpose.

The content

Everything published on Elvin - essays, articles, observations - is original work created by our authors, except where a specific piece explicitly credits an external source. All content is © Elvin and its respective authors. All rights reserved.

Our authors write under their own names and retain moral rights over their work. Where a piece draws on external sources, those sources are credited within the piece itself.

What you cannot do

  • Republish any essay in full - on your blog, newsletter, website, or anywhere else - without our explicit written permission
  • Present any part of our work as your own

If you want to republish something in full - say, for a class, a publication, or a community you run - just ask us. We're generally open to it as long as attribution is clear.

Contributing writers

Writers who contribute to Elvin grant us first publication rights. This means we publish the piece first; the author retains ownership of the work after publication. We won't republish or resell your work without asking. See the submission guidelines for more on how contributions work.

No warranties

Elvin is a passion project written by people with genuine curiosity, not professional credentials. The essays express personal opinions and perspectives. Nothing on this site constitutes legal, financial, medical, or professional advice of any kind. We write carefully, but we can be wrong - treat our work as a starting point for your own thinking, not as a final authority.

We may update these terms over time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
